Expansion Modules

For the XCx controllers a variety of chassis, power supply units and expansion modules are available.

Multifunctional Module

XSF

Features:
  • Fast inputs for sensor signal collection with a frequency of up to 2 MHz
  • Fast outputs for sensor generation with a frequency of up to 2 MHz
Advantages:
  • Pulses smaller than 1 μs can be recorded
  • High interference suppression
XSF basic functions:

Multifunctional Module

XSL

XSL modules are used for accurate laser control.

Features:
  • Fast inputs for sensor signal collection with a frequency of up to 2 MHz

Power Supply

XNG

The XNG 24 switched-mode power supply unit provides internal control voltages (DC 24V, DC 12V, DC 5V and DC 3,3V) to supply mounting racks.

Communication Module

USK DPM

USK DPM extends the control system by adding a Profibus-DP bus interface to IEC 61158 Type 3 and is operated as a Profibus-DP Class 1 master

Features:
  • Slave CPU of the XCx system.
  • Automatic data transmission rate of up to 12 MBit/s
  • Configuration via ProConOS.ini operating system file and a Hilscher Sycon configurator

Communication Module

USK DPS

USK DPS extends the control system by adding a Profibus-DP bus interface to IEC 61158 Type 3 and is operated as a Profibus-DP slave.

Features:
  • Slave CPU of the XCx system.
  • Automatic data transmission rate of up to 12 MBit/s
  • Configuration via ProConOS.ini operating system file and a Hilscher Sycon configurator

Meter Module

UZB

The UZB meter modules with 2 bidirectional meters are used in association with incremental encoders to record fast meter pulses.

Features:
  • Modules with 24 V and 5 V input voltage
  • Two mutually independent up and down counters (maximum input meter frequency:  100 kHz, counting range: 0 to 65535)
  • Combined bit/word modules

Advantages:
  • Fast response times
  • Outputs can be controlled independent of the cycle unit of the control unit.

Coupling Module

UKE

The UKE coupling module is used for parallel bus coupling of the first expansion mounting rack with the basic mounting rack or with an additional expansion mounting rack.

Features:
  • Mounted on the expansion mounting rack
  • Connection through UKK coupling cable (front)

Coupling Module

UKZ

The UKZ coupling module is used for parallel bus coupling of the basic mounting rack with the expansion mounting rack.

Features:
  • Mounted on the basic mounting rack
  • Connected through UKK coupling cable (front)
  • UKE coupling modules are used in expansion mounting racks

Positioning Module

UPM

Features:
  • UPM 3I/4A/4U position detection modules
  • Incremental, absolute or ultrasound position detection
  • Three independent channels for incremental position encoders (UPM 3I)
  • Position detection for four independent channels with synchronous serial-absolute position encoders (UPM 4A)
  • Four independent channels for digital trans-sonar position encoders (UPM 4A)

Positioning Module

UPI

Features:
  • Positioning interfaces UPI 2 DIA and UPI 3 DIA
  • Position detection and setpoint output for 2 or 3 independent NC axes
  • Use of incremental or absolute position measuring systems (encoders)
  • Setpoint output: 10 V (for analog servo amplifiers)
  • Use in PLC and CNC control units

USP

  • USP 200 S and 400 S positioning processors
  • SERCOS interfaces in the XCA 1100 and XCN 700 SERCOS CNC control systems
  • Operation of all SERCOS-capable drives from different manufacturers in one ring
  • Control of up to 8 SERCOS controllers in one ring (USP 200 S )
